It can be said that we are naturally become a group. Taking two classes at the same time and knowing each other otomatically make as a group. Which through working process we understand it was a great choice to be a group and work on the project.

Our first meeting was in Dicle’s home. And we start to discuss Project 04 main theme : Ote-Beri. We start from our personal ideas when we think what is the meaning of ote-beri. While converstaion evolves we realize that we have a common point in our argumentation which is concept of border. Then we discuss Fouacult and his idea on limits and how transgress those limits. It’s not to hard for three of us how to connect concept of border and limits with visual images. Then from this point we come cinema and photography naturally framing some scenes and this creates border and limits. This is the nature of the medium we are very familiar with. Once we decide the concept then we thought on some examples. One of them was Godard ‘s essay film Sarajevo. And it becomes a very important insprition from very begining to end. At the end of the meeting we install a whatsup group then we communicate daily.

We thought on photos we can use in the video. Gülin suggested Barthes Camera Lucida to look at some concepts and photos.

One week later we gatered to form the presentation. It was easy to form because throughout the week we draw our map clearly.

The presentation was insghtfull for us. After presentation we decide to shoot the photo ourselves.

Following weeks we discuss on the location. Where we should go and take some photos? When we think our concept and how we approach to borders, frames we decide that subways will be great for our project. Lots of people use it everday and it’s a place can not be identical to other places which we can play with the border of the place, too. 

We scheduled a day for shooting the photos. It was an unlucky day that the weather was freezing. We started from Gayrettepe station. We shot many photos and decide that going outside and try will be good, too. Then we pass to Haliç station after a second three of us said ‘ this is the place !’ . A very identical to itself at the same time timeless. Only disadvatage was freezing air. But after the shooting we were very happy to go Haliç and took photos in there.

Chosing the right photo interestingly was not hard or take long. We looked all photos and similarly get a good energy that we use in the art project. Many people, an timeless sense, light makes the image a flyer sense that we liked most.

Then we met for another meeting in the first week of January. And starts to edit the photo. And after some trying we shape the final form of editing but the sound part was not ready. That night we decided to write three different pieces seperately and joint them together. Playing with our borders, too.

Then we wrote pieces and recorded it with our voice and edited with video.
